Motorcycle First Aid Course 01/02/2012 PDF Print E-mail

On February 1st 2012 in the Clubhouse, Twelve members took part in a Motorcycle First Aid course which was give to us by Denis Murray and our quarter master Kevin his son .
Denis showed us how to deal with any given Accident situation -how to care and carry out what ever action was needed to help the Accident victim .
We were shown how to how to correctly examine approach the person on the ground, dress a wound and how to remove a helmet correctly if we needed, in order to establish breathing in an unresponsive patient. Of course first on the list was to call the Ambulance/emergency services, providing them with details such as number of people involved, their vital signs, accident location and their current condition/injuries.
This was a very educational night, and we would advice other clubs to look into providing this course as it could save a life, be it your best friend or some other road user .
